Institute of Positive Fashion Lead, British Fashion Council
Shailja Dubé is Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) Lead at the British Fashion Council. She is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the BFC's commitment to guide the UK fashion industry on climate action and becoming responsible creative businesses. She also directs the IPF Circular Fashion Ecosystem Project, a multi-year endeavor to establish the vision and conditions required to move the UK to a circular fashion economy. Here the BFC is identifying and facilitating the cross-sector partnerships required to enable the vision to be realized.
Prior to the BFC, Shailja was Responsible Retail Lead at Accenture where she focused on the intersection of sustainability and business in the fashion and wider retail sectors. With over 20 years’ experience, she has held business strategy, digital transformation management, market growth, innovation and social policy roles.
Passionate about creating systems-level change for an equitable fashion economy, Shailja believes that disruption and innovation is crucial to changing the business paradigm.
Shailja holds a BEng in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, MSc in Product Innovation, and is an alumni of the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
