Shailja Dubé

Institute of Positive Fashion Lead, British Fashion Council

Shailja Dubé joined the British Fashion Council in 2020, where she leads the Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) programme. Responsible for the strategy and delivery of the BFC's commitment to climate action, key programmes under the IPF include the Circular Fashion Ecosystem Project and the Low Carbon Transition Programme. Shailja is passionate about creating systems-level change for an equitable economy, ensuring social sustainability is also prioritised.

Prior to the BFC, Shailja was Responsible Retail Lead at Accenture UK where she focused on the intersection of sustainability and business in the fashion and wider retail sectors. With over 20 years’ experience, Shailja has held business strategy, digital transformation, innovation, and social policy roles.

Shailja holds a BEng in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, MSc in Product Innovation and Development, and is an alumnus of the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
