Koba
Koba faux fur is made from a mix of corn-based fibre Sorona® from DuPont™, and recycled polymer fibres. It can be mechanically recycled, and the use of chemicals in the production process are compliant with European regulations (REACH).
Hemp Fur
Hemp used to make faux fur is grown and produced in Ukraine without pesticides or herbicides, and has hypoallergenic properties. Hemp fur is made from 50% hemp, 50% viscose, and has a cotton base.
Milkweed
Milkweed is being positioned as an alternative to feather down, and was used as jacket insulation during WW11. Vegeto has developed a material which is a mix of milkweed, kapok, and a biopolymer made from cornstarch. Naturally hypoallergenic, milkweed supports the lifecycle of monarch butterflies in the US and Canada, which is now less than 1% of the population size since the 1980s.
PrimaLoft® Bio™
PrimaLoft® Bio™ is made entirely from post-consumer recycled material (mainly plastic bottles), and is approximately 93.8% biodegradable in 646 days under specific accelerated landfill environment conditions. It is positioned as an alternative to feather down.
FLWRDWN™
Developed by Pangaia, FLWRDWN™ is an alternative to feather down, made from a combination of wildflowers, a compostable biopolymer and a biodegradable aerogel.

Currently in Research & Development:

Lab grown fur
Researchers at Imperial College London, together with Central Saint Martins, are developing a lab grown fur using genes from fur-producing animals such as fox and mink.
FUROID ™️
Furoid have created the world’s first in-vitro hair follicle made from collagen from the stem cells of various animals such as mink or leopard. The process of tanning and dyeing the fur would also happen at a cellular level, which would prevent the use of the pollutive chemicals used.
